see, I'm not even telling you all this by myself - I let the masters explain why it all is so important to YOUR particular situation.
Or is it?... Just take your time and think: is going to all these sites and submitting your feeds/blogs by yourself, indeed, the most efficient thing you can do during that time?
When I first went to submit my feed to the directories from the books I've found, I watched the clock... for approximately 1/3 of all the directories to submit, it took me almost 12 hours!
It's just that almost every site comes up with their own rules you need to understand before you submit to them: on some sites you first need to create an account, confirm it, log in and only then go and find that link, where to submit.
And then there are sites that tell you that to place your link at the top of their directory, you must place their link at your site, and mail them the link to your linking page. You're adding it, uploading the page, sending the link, and then get a message that the email address doesn't exist. And you need to go and find the workaround.
Etc., etc., etc.
You may wonder, why I'm not afraid that you simply buy these books and do this all by yourself.
Funny, but in fact I would only win if you buy these books - because
1) you would see much more clearly how you could profit from feeds and blogs;
2) you will quickly understand, that you don't want to waste your time by going to all these sites by yourself.
And then you'll come here. ;)

It's just most of the times, webmaster isn't a marketer. Most of the times, webmaster will not pay attention to marketing possibilities you would see reading these books about RSS and blogs (and with us, you'll get these tips to boost your creativity, with the newsletter you subscribed to above).
Webmaster won't tell you, what you should do before you even start submitting the feeds.
Webmaster, most probably, won't tell you there are sites where you can submit redirected links (if you're smartly tracking things with software like Proanalyzer) and where you must submit the direct link.
I was at these sites as a marketer, and I can tell you as a marketer - there is a difference, from what perspective you're looking at this submission process.
And webmaster that is not experienced enough with this submission process, will take much more time to do it - time which you'll pay for as well.
But you don't know me too much, right?
